KEEP UP WITH WHAT'S UP AT THE NEVER NEVER MIND

The Never Never News

Our blog, where you can keep up with all the latest news from The Never Never Mind and our friends from around town and beyond.

“Out of Town”: Isobel Knight and friends

Isobel Knight is a folk-soul songwriter whose songs have made their way into hearts and charts around the world. This winter she is bringing a circus of folk friends on the road, including Charley Castle and The Boys In The Well, who play country and old time music, with the fresh flavours of Charley’s killer songwriting and harmonica skills.

Esther Lukins is a multi-instrumentalist who shines in musical worlds from folk to pop to classical, on instruments as varied as the harp, the violin and the recorder as well as vocals. The Out Of Town Tour is coming to Dorrigo, and local legends Rigo Express are joining them at The Never Never Mind on August 25th for an afternoon of connection and folkie magic. Tickets available at the door!

“Dorrigo punches above its weight as a musical and creative hub, and I’m so excited to roll our folkie circus into town and connect with your sweet community,” says Isobel.
“We’re excited to jam and to share songs and stories, and what better place to do this than The Never Never Mind.”

Sam Borgert live at the Never Never Mind

Local musician Sam Borgert is coming to The Never Never Mind Saturday, July 13.

We asked Sam for his thoughts on his work, and playing TNNM for the first time:

“This gig is an entirely acoustic run through of my first unreleased album, Easier In The Dark, an album which was largely written in and around the Bellingen and Dorrigo area.”

“It draws on true stories from my personal life, including some never-before heard songs and some family campfire favourites. It is a concept album, based around the idea that sometimes loving people and things is easier when there’s a degree of separation, and explores love, joy, heartbreak and mental health.”

“It means the world to me to be able to debut this album so close to my hometown of Bellingen, and I sincerely hope that it leaves you walking away feeling a little bet better than when you walked in.”
